Leaving Banff, travel 55 kilometers (34 miles) west on the Trans-Canada hwy #1, to Lake Louise. (The exit is past the Lake Louise townsite on highway #1) Then travel 125 kilometers (78 miles) north, from Lake Louise on The Icefields Parkway Hwy 93N to the Columbia Icefield.
Jasper to Columbia Icefield:
Leaving Jasper, travel 108 kilometers (67 miles) south on The Icefields Parkway hwy 93N, to the Columbia Icefield.
Calgary to the Columbia Icefield:
Leaving Calgary, travel 183 kilometers (114 miles) west on the Trans-Canada Highway #1 to Lake Louise. Then travel 125 kilometers (78 miles) north, from Lake Louise on The Icefields Parkway Hwy 93N to the Columbia Icefield. Edmonton to the Columbia Icefield:
Leaving Edmonton, travel 366 kilometers (220 miles) west on The Yellowhead Hwy #16, to Jasper. Then travel 108 kilometers (67 miles) south on The Icefields Parkway Hwy 93N, to the Columbia Icefield.
Vancouver to the Columbia Icefield:
Scenic Route: Leaving Vancouver, travel 149 kilometers (93 miles) east on the Trans-Canada Highway #1, to Hope. Then travel 275 kilometers (172 miles) north on the Trans-Canada Highway #1, following the road signs, to Kamloops. From Kamloops travel 432 kilometers (270 miles) east on the Trans-Canada Highway #1, to Lake Louise. From Lake Louise, travel 125 kilometers (78 miles) north on The Icefields Parkway Hwy 93N, to the Columbia Icefield. Quickest Route: From Hope, travel 197 kilometers (123 miles) northeast on the Coquihalla Hwy #5, to Kamloops and proceed as above.
